Teacher - Mrs England
Years - 7 & 8

Room 7 is a mixed Year 7 and 8 class. Our teacher is Mrs England and our part time teacher is Mrs Birdsall. Some children also have Mrs Mc Clung to help them with their reading.

We are the oldest in the school and so need to be good role models for the younger children. Our Buddy Class is Room 8. They are Year 2 & 3 children. Most of us enjoy having a buddy in a younger class.

We do lots of co-operative activities in our room. Sometimes we are not very good at getting things finished!

Last term we went to camp at Vertical Horizon in Inglewood. It was a lot of fun and most of us wished we could do it again.

Dear Diary

On Tuesday I woke on the ground next to my bags. I’d had a rough night!! I’m feeling excited. Its breakfast with my team Kiwi blues I can’t wait to start our group activities. We’re starting on the initiatives . We had to drag Anna through the smallest hole in the spider web. She got dirty but at least we did it! Then over  to the flying kiwi. Got harnessed in. I ran and my team pulled me.  I went flying in the air. Whew! What a day! I am so tired all I want to do is go to bed. But I can’t wait until tomorrow!

The First Day of Camp

 Dear Diary,

It was the funniest day of my life. Nadine went in the Go Cart even though she didn’t want to drive. Emma did. She went too fast and Nadine screamed! On the last lap we did a Mexican wave. It was cool!
We made our charts and chants for our group . “THE CLEAN GREEN SUPREME TEAM ! GO GRASSHOPPERS!”
We lined up for the water slide and were allowed at least 6 turns then onto the mud slide. Yuk! No one really liked it in the mud up to our knees. is.
We had a go at building a raft. It was really hard. We had to put our bits and pieces together but we didn’t have enough string. When we got to the water our raft fell to bits. We all got wet getting the stuff back to the jetty.
I was nervous about going to camp but buy the time I was ready to go home I was having a great time. It was the most fun ever! Wish I could go back again!

On Wednesday both Juniors and Seniors were lucky enough to meet Sunset, an illustrator of New Zealand picture books. He also does sketches and one –off illustrations for other books and articles. Thank you to the Eltham library staff and Mrs Muggeridge for organising this for us.
